Dr. Ramakrishnan Kavaserry, DPT, CDN, affectionately called Ramky, is the director and senior physical therapist at RVA Physical Therapy.
Dr. Kavaserry has distinguished himself as an outstanding physical therapist, working across many segments of practice, including outpatient, skilled nursing, home care and manual therapy, just to name a few.
After receiving his undergrad degree in physical therapy from a Top Ten medical school in India, Dr. Kavaserry earned his Master’s degree from Loma Linda University in California in 2004 and went on to earn a doctorate in 2017. He is a board certified physical therapist in the state of Virginia, and has almost 15 years of clinical expertise.
He started his career as a practicing physical therapist at a skilled nursing facility, and has a wide breadth of experience working widely with seniors, treating a variety of age-related conditions, and has successfully rehabilitated his patients back to their active lifestyle.
Dr. Kavaserry is highly skilled and certified in all forms of manual therapy, including myofascial release, dry needling, back-to-golf fitness training, vestibular rehabilitation and aquatherapy. His practice focuses extensively on different techniques and treatment modalities aimed at relieving pain and restoring wellness to patients of all ages and fitness levels. An avid fitness enthusiast himself, he has been lauded for his successful treatment of a wide variety of conditions including sports injuries and reintroducing his patients back into their active lifestyle.
He is keen on keeping abreast of the latest developments and research in the field, and runs his practice based on the latest research and treatment methodologies in the field of physical therapy. He is an active member of the Virginia Physical Therapy Association and the American Physical Therapy Association.
An Awardee of Virginia’s Best in 2015 and Top Doctor in 2019, Dr. Kavaserry attributes his accomplishments to his dedication to his profession.
